Navigation Radio License in Panama
Overview
The radio license allows communication via radio frequency with the port of departure. A Provisional Radio License is issued by the Dirección General de Marina Mercante or the respective Panamanian consulate, after receiving the complete description of the vessel, and payment of the corresponding annual fees or taxes according to the service and gross and net tonnage of the vessel. This provisional license is valid for 6 months.
Requirements to obtain a regulatory radio license
In order to obtain the regulatory radio license, the vessel must be in good standing, have its technical documents in force and provide the following:
- Duly completed radio license application form
- Proof of payment of the applicable fees
- Any other document requested by the Directorate General of Merchant Marine.
